Getting started
When do classes start?
We're getting ready to open, and spots are limited. Enrol now to ask for a spot at our opening prices. We'll email you a payment link, and your child's spot is secured once it's paid in full.
We don't speak the language at home. Will my child keep up?
Yes. Our classes are made for children starting from zero, so nobody is expected to know anything on day one.
My child already speaks some Mandarin, Japanese or Spanish at home. Which class is right?
Tell us when you enrol. A teacher will check where your child is at and place them in the group that suits them, so they're neither bored nor lost.
How do I enrol?
Online. Choose a language and a package, then tell us about your child and the day and time that suit you. It takes about 2 minutes.
We email you within one working day with a payment link. Your child's spot is secured once it's paid in full.
Is my child too young, or too old?
Our classes are for children aged 3 to 12, in 2 groups: Little Sprouts for ages 3 to 6, and Big Sprouts for ages 7 to 12. We place children by their age. Little Sprouts learn through songs and play, so they don't need to read yet.
Classes and learning
How big are the classes, and how long are they?
Every class is 45 minutes, with up to 6 children. That way every child gets several turns to speak in each lesson.
Which days are classes on?
When you enrol, you'll see which days still have spots. Pick the day that suits your family, and a time if one is shown. Days that are full have a waitlist, and we'll let you know if a spot opens up. We confirm your child's class time by email.
How many classes a week should my child do?
One class a week is a steady start. Two or three classes a week give your child more practice, and each class costs less. We recommend 3 classes a week.
My child is shy. Will they be put on the spot?
No. Teachers start with songs and answers the whole group says together, so nobody has to speak alone. Small groups make it easier for quiet children to join in when they're ready.
Will learning another language confuse my child?
No. Children who learn more than one language reach the same milestones as other children. Mixing words from two languages for a while is a normal part of learning, and it sorts itself out. That's the advice from Pregnancy, Birth and Baby, the Australian Government's parenting health service.
Will my child become fluent?
Being fluent takes years and lots of practice, so we won't promise that. What we can promise is steady progress: everyday words, songs and simple conversations, and for older children, reading and writing.
Fees
How much does it cost?
Our usual price is $55 a class. At our opening prices, 1 class a week is $50 a class, and 2 or 3 classes a week are $40 a class. Our recommended package, 3 classes a week, is $120 a week, $45 less than 3 single classes.
You can pay weekly, or for the whole school term, which we recommend because it secures your child's spot for the term. Spots are limited, so enrol now to get the opening prices.
Is there a discount?
Yes. Families who join us now pay our opening prices: $50 a class for 1 class a week, or $40 a class for 2 or 3 classes a week, instead of our usual $55 a class. It's our thank you for joining us early.
Safety and care
Are the teachers checked?
Yes. Every teacher holds a NSW Working With Children Check, and we verify each one with the Office of the Children's Guardian before they start teaching.
How do drop-off and pick-up work?
We recommend dropping your child off 15 minutes before class, so they can settle in. Walk your child in and sign them in with the teacher. At the end of class we only hand children to a parent or to someone on your authorised pick-up list, which we ask for before the first class.
What about allergies and medical needs?
Before the first class, we ask about allergies, medical conditions and medication, and we make sure your child's teacher knows before the first class.

Enrolment and fees
You enrol your child in a weekly package of 1, 2 or 3 classes. Prices are per class, for one child, and every price is on our Programs page.
Enrolling asks for a spot. We reply within one working day with a payment link. Your child's spot is secured once it's paid in full, and spots go to the families who pay first, not to whoever enquired first.
You can pay weekly, or for the whole school term, which we recommend because it secures your child's spot for the term. There's no enrolment fee.
Missed classes and make-ups
If your child will miss a class, let us know before it starts. We'll offer a make-up class in another group at the same level, that week or the next, when there's a spot.
If we cancel a class, or it falls on a public holiday, we'll run a make-up class or refund it.
Withdrawals and refunds
If your child isn't enjoying it, tell us within their first 2 weeks of classes and we'll refund the classes you've paid for that are left.
After that we don't refund for a change of mind. If something serious comes up, like illness or moving house, talk to us and we'll work it out fairly.
None of this affects your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
When your child is unwell
Please keep your child home if they have a fever, or have vomited or had diarrhoea in the last 24 hours. Let us know and we'll offer a make-up class.
If your child becomes unwell in class, we'll call you to collect them.
Drop-off and pick-up
Please walk your child in and sign them in with the teacher, and collect them from the classroom at the end.
We only hand children to a parent or to someone on your authorised pick-up list. You can update the list any time by email.
Running late? Call or text us and a teacher will wait with your child.
Photos of children
We only take photos of your child with your permission, and you choose how they're used before the first class: on our website and social media, only with families in your child's class, or not at all.
We never publish a child's full name with a photo. You can change your choice at any time by emailing us.
Child safety
Every teacher holds a NSW Working With Children Check, which we verify with the Office of the Children's Guardian before they start.
Our child safety practices follow the NSW Child Safe Standards. If you're ever worried about a child's safety, please tell us straight away. You can also contact the NSW Office of the Children's Guardian.
Your privacy
Aloha Sprouts collects your details and your child's details, including any allergy or medical information, so we can place your child in the right class, keep them safe and contact you.
We only share this with our teachers and the services we use to run bookings, email and payments. We don't sell it or use it for anything else.
If you leave out medical details, we may not be able to care for your child safely. You can ask to see or correct the information we hold, or make a complaint, by emailing us.
